Sheldon Sweeney, ChSNC®ChFC®, RICP®, ABFP®

WEALTH Advisor

Sheldon’s path to the financial services industry has been anything but traditional. After earning a B.S. in Nautical Industrial Technology from the California Maritime Academy, he spent several years in the maritime industry, before discovering his true passion – helping people.

Motivated by a deep commitment to client service, Sheldon transitioned into financial services as a Protection Specialist with a major fraternal insurer. However, limited product offerings prompted him to seek a broader platform to better service his clients’ diverse needs. In 2012 Sheldon started building his business at Pacific Capital Resource Group, Inc. in Bellevue, WA as a Financial Advisor, before the opportunity to move his business to Snider Financial Group arose. Here, he has found a team-oriented environment perfectly aligned with his values and client-first philosophy. Sheldon truly enjoys helping individuals, families, and business owners alike planning for retirement while protecting and preserving the legacies they have built.

Sheldon holds four designations; the Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC®), the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®), and the Accredited Behavior Finance Professional (ABFP™) . He is also Life and Disability licensed.

Sheldon is especially passionate about working with families of children with special needs – a commitment inspired by his youngest daughter who has Down syndrome. He understands firsthand the unique challenges these families face and the importance of thoughtful, comprehensive planning. In support of this mission, Sheldon has built a network of professionals who serve special needs community. He is frequently invited to speak at school districts and organizations, including the Washington State Fathers Network, and the Bellevue, Issaquah, Tahoma, and Kent School Districts.

Driven by service to others, Sheldon volunteers in leadership roles at multiple organizations, including the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club, ProVisors, and Special Olympics and values the opportunity to give back to the community.

Sheldon and his wife Debbie have five children and have been Maple Valley, WA residents for over 25 years. Their household also includes two dogs and two cats. In his free time, Sheldon spends time with his family, swims year-round in open water and in the pool and will never turn down a polar plunge challenge! He is also an avid hiker, disc golfer, ukulele player, and traveler.
